detail Ben Dallas Artist Statement: Something between this and that is a thing without associations as somewhere between here and there is a place unknown. The only aesthetic category that matters is the one accommodating the unexpected. Even the labels of "sculpture" and "painting" carry weight too heavy for art that demands to be left alone. The contexts available for the works we make are already set and waiting for new arrivals. There is too much information in the world and in art.
