on urban to and from and the feeling of in-between:

it seems as though much of my time these days is spent in the in-between. i am often in transit, traveling from one known spot to another, and i find myself in the in-between, often feeling a bit disconnected. in the context of a large city, the in-between seems to take forever and it almost always involves large buildings and unknown individuals. and my identity in relation to other elements in the in-between? to the strangers, i am a stranger. to the structures, I am an ant.

some words on deb:

deb is originally from davis, california, famously known as the shooting locale for the movie, revenge of the killer tomatoes. deb received her bfa from the university of illinois at urbana-champain in 1996, and has lived in chicago for the past five years. currently, deb is pursuing her mfa in fiber and material studies at the school of the art institute where she also works as a teaching assistant. reproductions of deb's work can be seen in ivy sundell's book, art scene, chicago 2000 and in the latest issue of new american paintings.
